PROJECT: Announcement of Acela Express high-speed train service

AUDIENCE: Regional media, Congress, Amtrak employees

LOCATION: Union Station, Washington, DC

CHALLENGE: Dramatically unveil the Acela Express at a press conference on a Union Station train platform

ProAdvance carefully configured the event to fit on the narrow platform, allowing space for a large media contingent and numerous VIPs (including four U.S. Senators). Arranged for the train to pull into the event to booming upbeat music and through a cloud of fog. The Associated Press called it "a dramatically choreographed arrival" and the Hartford Courant "a well-orchestrated public debut." Acela Express now serves Amtrak's Northeast Corridor.
